AIPMT or All India Pre-Medical Test which is now replaced by NEET 2020 is a national level UG entrance examination for medical aspirants. The exam is conducted in pen-paper based mode by the Central Board of Secondary Education to offer admissions to eligible candidates in medical programmes offered by medical colleges in India. Almost every medical school in India accepts the score of AIPMT for enrolment into medical programmes, however, the same is not valid for admission in AIIMS.

AIPMT (NEET) 2020: Eligibility Criteria


Indian Nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Foreign Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs). 

Note: These candidates meet the eligibility criteria to apply under 15% All India Quota seats also.

Aadhaar number is mandatory to fill the application form.

Age Criteria:

Upper age limit:  25 years old

Note: 5 years of age relaxation is available for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

UR candidates must be born on or between 08.05.1993-01.01.2002.

SC/ST/OBC candidates must be born on or between 08.05.1988-01.01.2002.

Qualification Criteria:

Qualification in standard 12th examination with Physics, Chemistry Biology/Biotechnology and English as mandatory subjects.

Medical aspirants who are going to be B.Sc Degree-Holder within three years with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology as practical subjects also meet the eligibility criteria to fill the application form.

Qualifying Marks:

At Least 50% marks in aggregate i.e. when Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology are taken together.

At Least 40% marks in aggregate in qualifying exam for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Candidates appearing for final year examination are also eligible to apply for AIPMT (NEET).

AIPMT 2020: Admit Card 

The admit card of AIPMT (NEET) is issued via online mode, to be downloaded by the candidates followed by taking its print out to carry along while appearing for the examination. The admit card is an entry ticket to the hall of the examination without which the candidate is not allowed to take the test under any circumstances.

AIPMT (NEET) 2020: Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Exam: The AIPMT exam is conducted in offline mode as a pen-paper based examination.
  • Number of Attempts allowed: A total of 3 attempts are allowed to take this examination.
  • Type of Questions: Objective- MCQ type questions.
  • Total number of Questions: 18- MCQs
  • Duration of Exam: 3 hours/180 minutes
  • Medium of Languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Oriya and Kannada.
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks are awarded for each right attempt
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect attempt.

AIPMT (NEET) 2020: Application Form 

The medical aspirants interested to pursue medical programmes from top-notch universities or schools through this entrance test need to fill the application form via online mode for the same. First registration on the official website has to be done and then the application form has to be furnished with the details asked like personal details, academic details , etc. Once filled, the candidate must verify the form and upload the scanned copies of required documents such as passport size photograph and sign in JPG format. After this, the candidates need to submit the application form and make the payment of application fee.

AIPMT 2020: Syllabus

The AIPMT (NEET) takes into consideration the syllabus of standard 11th and 12th to cover the topics from subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology.

Students participated in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) June 2020 TEE, and December 2019 TEE exam will now be allowed to apply for the xerox copies of answer booklets. Indira Gandhi National Open University has decided to allow the students for the revaluation and re totalling of marks, they scored in these examinations.

The results of IGNOU June 2020 TEE were announced on October 1. With the upcoming facility of issuance of the photocopy of answer booklets, the students who were dissatisfied with their results can apply for the revaluation of marks scored in the term-end examinations and the photocopies of IGNOU TEE answer sheets. 

The application for the same will have to be made online on the official website of the university. Students simply need to go to the IGNOU website and click apply on the designated link. After which, a few details need to be filled, followed by the payment of the application fee and submission of the application form. 

It must be noted that the applications for revaluation and photocopies of IGNOU December 2019 TEE and IGNOU June 2020 TEE of exams comprising MCQ type questions are disallowed. 

According to the statement in the IGNOU revaluation window,  “Reevaluation and copy of Answerscripts is not available for the Following Exam for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type and conducted on OMR sheets.”

Students can apply for and get the photocopies of the answer booklets of IGNOU June TEE and IGNOU December TEE examinations if the answer copy has not been handled for Re-evaluation. Students can either first make an application for the copy of Answer Sheet, followed by an application for Re-evaluation or go for both simultaneously.

Education expenses of NEET topper Akansha Singh will be paid by Uttar Pradesh Government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made an announcement about the disbursement of her graduation expenses. These expenses will include the expenditure of food and lodging during all the academic levels of her graduation.

Akansha Singh lives in Kushinagar district of UP and has achieved 100% score in NEET 2020 exam.  

Though Akansha was given second rank in the examination, she has been declared as top-ranked along with Soyeb Aftab who is native of Odisha state. On the direction of CM Yogi Adityanath, a letter is to be sent by the chief secretary of UP state, to the authorities concerned for the declaration of NEET 2020 ranks to declare Akansha Singh and Soyeb Aftab, both as the first rankers of NEET 2020 examination as they both have scored 720 marks out of maximum score of 720. 

Besides, personal wishes are sent from UP CM to the family members and parents of AKansha Singh, laurelled the top- scorer as an ideal for all the girls. CM Yogi Adityanath appreciated the hard -work she has made and the high perseverance she has maintained throughout her preparation. 

On the other side, Shoyeb Aftab has also created a history with a full score of 720/720 and All India Rank of 1. He is the first-ever candidate to score 100% in NEET examination. From Odisha state also, he is the first student to Top NEET. With this high score, he hopes to get admission in AIIMS New Delhi. 

NEET 2020 comprises a sum of 180 MCQ type questions for a maximum of 720 marks. Qualified candidates who have scored at least or more than NEET 2020 cut-off are considered eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET 2020. This implies that the candidates with scores more than NTA NEET 2020 cut-off will be eligible for enrollment to state-quota seats India quota (AIQ) seats through NEET 2020 counselling. The NEET 2020 cutoff for students who belong to General Category is 147. The highest number of students who have qualified NEET 2020 are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra.

Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association, KPPGCA has released the admit card for KMAT 2020 for the eligible candidates who applied for the examination by filling the application form and paying the prescribed application fee. The admit card has been released via online mode on the official website of KPPGCA on 27th October 2020. 

Successful candidates need to download their admit card from the official website i.e. kmatindia.com. using their login credentials.

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2020 is an entrance examination that will be conducted by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association) to offer enrollment to the qualified candidates in 189+ AICTE or University accredited Management Schools established in Bangalore and Karnataka. This year, the examination will be conducted on 29th October 2020 for admission to management institutes in the state. 

The exam will take place via online mode, keeping in mind all the precautionary measures amid COVID-19. All the participants must carry along their KMAT Admit Card otherwise the entry to the exam hall is prohibited. Check below the simple steps to download the KMAT 2020 Admit Card.

According to an official statement by Raghu Sharma, Rajasthan Health Minister, approval for the additional seats in MBBS in Rajasthan has been granted. 230 additional seats have been green signalled for the MBBS programmes at four medical schools in the state. 50 additional seats will be given to the medical schools in Udaipur and Ajmer. As far as Barmer Medical College is concerned, there will be an increment of 30 seats this year. 

In comparison to last year when there was a total increment of 550 seats, seats added this year are lower. However, if taken together, the total addition in MBBS seats in the last two years reaches 880 in Rajasthan, thereby making a sum of 2830 total MBBS seats in Rajasthan, today. 

The initiation of Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar has also received approval by the National Medical Science Commission. The Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar will be started in the session 2020-21. 

Sikar is a native district and approval of a medical college in Sikar was great news for Govind Singh Dotasara, Congress State President, who expressed extreme joy through a tweet over the approval.

"The much-awaited Sikar Medical College has received the approval of the National Medical Science Commission. It is a result of the strong will power of the Congress government of the state that the Sikar people have got their right, their medical college," a tweet by Mr Dotasara.

The first round of the NEET 2020 Counselling will start from 27th of October 2020 by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The first round of seat allotment under this process will commence from tomorrow. The counselling process will be conducted only for those candidates who have qualified the NEET 2020 exam. Unqualified aspirants will not be able to take part in the same. However, the registration is mandatory for the eligible candidates to participate in the counselling. 

Registration for the first round of seat allotment needs to be done on the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in. and will remain open till 2nd November 2020 before 5 pm. It must be noted that registration must be done before the deadlines otherwise the participation in the seat allotment process is prohibited. 

NEET 2020 registration process seeks the names of the courses and colleges preferred by the candidates that means the candidates will have to fill in their choices about the college and the course during the registration process. However, the candidates will be allowed to fill in their preference within a specific course of time i.e. from 28th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020, after that the preferences will be frozen. 

Followed by the 2nd round of seat allotment, details about which will be notified very soon, the 1st round will be conducted on 3rd and 4th November and the results of the same will be declared on 5th November 2020. Here is the process to register for the counselling process of NEET 2020:

Step 1: Go to the official website of MCC i.e. mcc.nic.in.

Step 2: Find and click on the ‘UG Medical Counselling’ link available on the homepage.

Step 3: Click on ‘New Registration’.

Step 4: Save your new login ID and password that will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Click on ‘Candidate Login’ and enter your new login credentials.

Step 6: Enter all the details asked.

Step 7: You will get a registration slip after filling all the details. 

Step 8: Make a payment of the registration fee. 

The registration fee needs to be paid before the deadline and the due date for the payment of the registration fee for NEET 2020 Counselling's first round is 2nd November 2020.
