The university organizes AU AIMEE (All India Medical Entrance Exam) Pharmacy entrance test to offer candidates admissions into the B.Pharma, M.Pharm and D.Pharma courses. AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2020 is a National-level Entrance Examination held every year. AU AIMEE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Eligibility Criteria for candidates applying for different pharmaceutical courses in Annamalai University is mentioned below. Candidates are advised to meet the criteria before applying for the exam. If a candidate fails to meet the required eligibility criteria, he/she will fall liable for rejection of the application form filled. The complete AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2020 eligibility criteria for all the courses offered are as follows:
- B.Pharma
- A candidate must be of Indian nationality.
- A candidate’s age must be of 17 years on or before 31st Dec 2020.
- A candidate must have passed in all the subjects of HSC (10+2).
- Required subjects to fulfill the criteria
Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology
OR
Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics with any subject.
- Minimum eligible marks in 10+2 are as follows
- For OC / BC / BCM / MBC / DNC Candidates – A minimum of 35% of marks in individual subjects and not less than 40% aggregate marks overall.
- For SC / SCA / ST Candidates – A minimum of 35% of marks in individual subjects and not less than 35% aggregate marks overall.
- A minimum of 35% marks in English.
- Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu:
- Those who have passed Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII in Tamil Nadu can apply without needing to provide the "Nativity Certificate".
- Those who have passed any of Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII or their equivalent exam from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply but they will need to provide a copy of the "Nativity Certificate".
- All candidates who are children of All India Service Tamil Nadu Cadre Officers are eligible.
- Those whose parents are Central Government employees can apply, regardless of their nativity, given that their parents or guardians (if neither parent is alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years at the time of application submission.
- Candidates belonging to other states who have studied Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII in Tamil Nadu can also apply without enclosing the "Nativity Certificate".
- Candidates belonging to other states and who have not studied Class VIII, IX, X, XI and XII from Tamil Nadu:
- Those candidates can apply regardless of their category, and will be considered under open-competition.
- Also, they will be considered only after all Tamil Nadu candidates have been exhausted.
- B.Pharm (Lateral Entry)
- A candidate must be of Indian nationality.
- Overseas citizens of India are eligible to apply if registered under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 (Central Act 57 of 1955).
- A candidate’s age must be of 17 years on or before 31st Dec 2020.
- A candidate must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm) from Annamalai University or an equivalent university.
- A candidate must have scored an overall aggregate of not less than 50% marks in the 1st and 2nd year exams of D. Pharm.
- D.Pharm
- A candidate must be of Indian nationality.
- A candidate’s age must be of 17 years on or before 31st Dec 2020.
- Overseas citizens of India are eligible to apply if registered under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 (Central Act 57 of 1955).
- A candidate must have passed the HSC exam or equivalent with the following subjects: Physics and Chemistry, along with Biology (or) Botany and Zoology (or) Mathematics.
- Candidates with B.Sc. Degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology / Mathematics as subjects are also eligible.
- M.Pharm
- A candidate must have a B. Pharm degree from Annamalai University or an equivalent university with not less than 50% marks.
- Candidates belonging to SC/SCA/ST categories need only a pass in the B. Pharm course.
- A candidate’s age must be of 17 years on or before 31st Dec 2020.
- Candidates must have passed the HSC exam with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with either Mathematics or Biology or Botany and Zoology.
- Those with qualification in D. Pharm from an institution that has been approved by the Pharmacy Council of India are also eligible.
- Candidates belonging to states other than Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply. However, regardless of the category, they will be considered under open competition, after exhausting all Tamil Nadu candidates.

AU AIMEE COUNSELLING
Qualified candidates with a score of at least cut-off marks will be invited to the counselling process of AU AIMEE Pharmacy 2020. The counselling process will be held in online mode after the announcement of merit list in July 2020 (tentatively). Candidates need to pay the counselling fee of Rs. 2000 (Rs. 500 for SC/SCA/ ST candidates), either by cash or DD that is drawn in favor of “The Registrar, Annamalai University” payable at Chennai during counselling.
- Candidates have the option to select the choice of course and the college they want to attend.
- Candidates with differently abled conditions will be prioritized.
- Candidates will be called for the process of Counselling based on their merit.
- Candidates will have to report in-person at the Administrative Office of Annamalai University.
