CAT 2020 Application Forms were released on 29th July 2020. The registration was started on 5th August 2020. Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will organize the CAT 2021 exam. It is a computer-based admission test conducted for admissions in PG & Fellow management programs offered by IIMs all over the country. Various B Schools and other management institutions in India will consider the CAT 2021 score for providing admission in MBA, PGDM & other PG management courses.

CAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

The details mentioned below will help the students to know the eligibility criteria of CAT 2021 before filling the application forms:

  • Qualifying exam: The aspirants should hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized university/institute.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: The aspirants who have got at least 50% marks (45% marks for the students belonging to SC, ST, or PwD category) in the qualifying exam are eligible to apply for CAT 2021.
  • Final Sem Students: The aspirants who are in the final semester of the Bachelor’s degree can also apply for the exam, subject to fulfillment of other conditions.
  • CA/CS/ICWA: The aspirants holding CA, CS or ICWA degree are also allowed to apply for the exam.
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit for giving CAT examination.

  •  Pen down the important and direct formulas and make a formula book in which you can and keep on revising them regularly.
  • Students should practice solving the questions within 2 minutes as this is the average time which you will be given in the exam for each question in the quant section.
  • Students can break the entire section into three parts according to their difficulty level from easy to moderate to difficult While attempting QA in mocks.
  • Students can solve more questions in less time, rather than wasting time on the question whose answer is not clear to you, Students must move ahead and attempt the ones whose answers you know.

Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

  • The Students find DI/LR very difficult among the three sections asked in CAT. It will be difficult for you to score high in this section, In case you have not started preparing for this section in advance
  • Students must know the graphs and charts that can come in DI and puzzles in LR.
  • Students can save a lot of time in the exam with practicing quick calculation, by learning the percentage equivalent of fractions
  • To solve complex cases learn to solve puzzles like Sudoku and crossword which will sharpen your learning skills and ability 
  • Attempt at least 20 questions or 4 sets each of DI and LR daily; each set of the questions takes 10-15 minutes to solve but you should practice to solve them within 8-12 minutes.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension is the section in which the students get scared giving the CAT exam. This section is designed to test the English skills of the students, this section includes the following types of questions-

  • To begin with, the preparation for the CAT 2021 exam is to collect all the relevant study material. Start by learning the concepts of each topic
  • Students should practice using a timer but do not use a calculator particularly when you are practicing Data Interpretation.
  • Students should practice each topic properly as it will help in assessing your strengths and weaker areas as well. Students should make a list of their strong and weak areas and during the initial phase of studying, you can pay detailed attention towards strengthening your weak areas.
  • Rather than solving 20 questions of one type, you must solve 4 questions of 5 types from each topic and give attention towards solving the question papers of different styles.

 Give mock tests

You must start giving mocks tests as early as possible and if you score less don’t feel disappointed. Mock tests are designed to help the candidates in knowing their strengths and weaknesses so that they can give extra effort into improving their shortcomings. Analyze each mock test you give carefully, the more mock tests you give, the better understanding you will have. It is advised to give at least 1 mock test in a week and once you have finished the entire syllabus, you should start primarily on mocks and sectional tests. The process of admission to management programmes in prestigious colleges through CAT starts with the registration on the official website. Once registered, the interested candidates may apply for the examination online by filling an application form, uploading the required documents and latest passport size photograph, followed by payment of the application fee.

CAT 2021: Application Fee

Payment of the application fee is an inevitable step to be a successful applicant. One can’t register him/herself for the CAT 2021 without the payment of the prescribed application fee. CAT application fees have been increased across all categories from the 2020 session onwards. INR 100 has been increased for General/OBC candidates and INR 50 for SC/ST/OBC candidates. 

  • The students coming to general/OBC category candidates need to pay INR 2000 plus processing charges.
  • The students coming to SC/ST/PwD category have to pay INR 1000 plus Processing Charges
  • The students can deposit the registration fee online through different modes including net banking, debit card, and credit card only.
  • The students will not get a refund of the application fee in any condition.

CAT 2021: Admit Card 

CAT 2021 the admit card is anticipated to be made available in October 2021. The applicants will get the admit card through online mode on the official website. The candidates must download the same after logging in with the user ID and password. Candidates are advised to check all the details about him/her like name, photograph, sign, DOB & other details available in the admit card. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate must contact the CAT officials for the rectification.

Candidates will be required to carry one ID proof along with admit card while appearing for the examination. Candidates must keep the admit card safe till the completion of the admission process.

CAT 2021: Result

IIM will declare the CAT 2021 result in the first week of January 2022 on the official website iimcat.ac.in The result will be available in scorecard format and the same will be downloadable by the candidates using their login ID and username. CAT 2020 Result will comprise candidate's name, registration no., photograph, category, sectional score & percentile, total score and total percentile. CAT results will be declared in online mode and after the declaration, the students will be shortlisted based on their  individual CAT cut offs.

After CAT 2021 Result

After the announcement of CAT 2021 result, the IIMs will invite the qualified candidates for the further rounds of selection, namely, Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The candidates who will score the least cut off marks fixed for shortlisting the candidates for this round, will need to apply for the admission at the preferred institute on the IIM’s official website. Thereafter, the institutes will filter the candidates based on their total and sectional CAT 2021 percentile. The IIM admission process will comprise three phases which are as follows:

  • Screening of candidates based on CAT score and academic record.
  • Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview (WAT/GD-PI) round
  • Final selection of the test-takers

Final selection of the candidates for 2021-2023 MBA batch will be done based on an array of parameters like CAT 2021 score, academic record, work experience, gender diversity and performance in the further rounds of selection.

Students participated in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) June 2020 TEE, and December 2019 TEE exam will now be allowed to apply for the xerox copies of answer booklets. Indira Gandhi National Open University has decided to allow the students for the revaluation and re totalling of marks, they scored in these examinations.

The results of IGNOU June 2020 TEE were announced on October 1. With the upcoming facility of issuance of the photocopy of answer booklets, the students who were dissatisfied with their results can apply for the revaluation of marks scored in the term-end examinations and the photocopies of IGNOU TEE answer sheets. 

The application for the same will have to be made online on the official website of the university. Students simply need to go to the IGNOU website and click apply on the designated link. After which, a few details need to be filled, followed by the payment of the application fee and submission of the application form. 

It must be noted that the applications for revaluation and photocopies of IGNOU December 2019 TEE and IGNOU June 2020 TEE of exams comprising MCQ type questions are disallowed. 

According to the statement in the IGNOU revaluation window,  “Reevaluation and copy of Answerscripts is not available for the Following Exam for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type and conducted on OMR sheets.”

Students can apply for and get the photocopies of the answer booklets of IGNOU June TEE and IGNOU December TEE examinations if the answer copy has not been handled for Re-evaluation. Students can either first make an application for the copy of Answer Sheet, followed by an application for Re-evaluation or go for both simultaneously.

Education expenses of NEET topper Akansha Singh will be paid by Uttar Pradesh Government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made an announcement about the disbursement of her graduation expenses. These expenses will include the expenditure of food and lodging during all the academic levels of her graduation.

Akansha Singh lives in Kushinagar district of UP and has achieved 100% score in NEET 2020 exam.  

Though Akansha was given second rank in the examination, she has been declared as top-ranked along with Soyeb Aftab who is native of Odisha state. On the direction of CM Yogi Adityanath, a letter is to be sent by the chief secretary of UP state, to the authorities concerned for the declaration of NEET 2020 ranks to declare Akansha Singh and Soyeb Aftab, both as the first rankers of NEET 2020 examination as they both have scored 720 marks out of maximum score of 720. 

Besides, personal wishes are sent from UP CM to the family members and parents of AKansha Singh, laurelled the top- scorer as an ideal for all the girls. CM Yogi Adityanath appreciated the hard -work she has made and the high perseverance she has maintained throughout her preparation. 

On the other side, Shoyeb Aftab has also created a history with a full score of 720/720 and All India Rank of 1. He is the first-ever candidate to score 100% in NEET examination. From Odisha state also, he is the first student to Top NEET. With this high score, he hopes to get admission in AIIMS New Delhi. 

NEET 2020 comprises a sum of 180 MCQ type questions for a maximum of 720 marks. Qualified candidates who have scored at least or more than NEET 2020 cut-off are considered eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET 2020. This implies that the candidates with scores more than NTA NEET 2020 cut-off will be eligible for enrollment to state-quota seats India quota (AIQ) seats through NEET 2020 counselling. The NEET 2020 cutoff for students who belong to General Category is 147. The highest number of students who have qualified NEET 2020 are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra.

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2020 is an entrance examination that will be conducted by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association) to offer enrollment to the qualified candidates in 189+ AICTE or University accredited Management Schools established in Bangalore and Karnataka. According to an official statement by Raghu Sharma, Rajasthan Health Minister, approval for the additional seats in MBBS in Rajasthan has been granted. 230 additional seats have been green signalled for the MBBS programmes at four medical schools in the state. 50 additional seats will be given to the medical schools in Udaipur and Ajmer. As far as Barmer Medical College is concerned, there will be an increment of 30 seats this year. 

In comparison to last year when there was a total increment of 550 seats, seats added this year are lower. However, if taken together, the total addition in MBBS seats in the last two years reaches 880 in Rajasthan, thereby making a sum of 2830 total MBBS seats in Rajasthan, today. 

The initiation of Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar has also received approval by the National Medical Science Commission. The Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar will be started in the session 2020-21. 

Sikar is a native district and approval of a medical college in Sikar was great news for Govind Singh Dotasara, Congress State President, who expressed extreme joy through a tweet over the approval.

"The much-awaited Sikar Medical College has received the approval of the National Medical Science Commission. It is a result of the strong will power of the Congress government of the state that the Sikar people have got their right, their medical college," a tweet by Mr Dotasara.

The first round of the NEET 2020 Counselling will start from 27th of October 2020 by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The first round of seat allotment under this process will commence from tomorrow. The counselling process will be conducted only for those candidates who have qualified the NEET 2020 exam. Unqualified aspirants will not be able to take part in the same. However, the registration is mandatory for the eligible candidates to participate in the counselling. 

Registration for the first round of seat allotment needs to be done on the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in. and will remain open till 2nd November 2020 before 5 pm. It must be noted that registration must be done before the deadlines otherwise the participation in the seat allotment process is prohibited. 

NEET 2020 registration process seeks the names of the courses and colleges preferred by the candidates that means the candidates will have to fill in their choices about the college and the course during the registration process. However, the candidates will be allowed to fill in their preference within a specific course of time i.e. from 28th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020, after that the preferences will be frozen. 

Followed by the 2nd round of seat allotment, details about which will be notified very soon, the 1st round will be conducted on 3rd and 4th November and the results of the same will be declared on 5th November 2020. Here is the process to register for the counselling process of NEET 2020:

Step 2: Find and click on the ‘UG Medical Counselling’ link available on the homepage.

Step 3: Click on ‘New Registration’.

Step 4: Save your new login ID and password that will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Click on ‘Candidate Login’ and enter your new login credentials.

Step 6: Enter all the details asked.

Step 7: You will get a registration slip after filling all the details.
