Common Entrance Exam for Design is a joint entrance exam for post-graduation in the technological designing course. Abbreviated as CEED, this national level exam takes place once in a year jointly at all IITs and Indian Institute of Science to select the eligible aspirants for the admissions into Master of Design (M.Des) and PhD (Design).
CEED is conducted by IIT Bombay throughout the country to elect the fashion enthusiasts appearing for this exam. In the year 2021, CEED will take place in the fourth week of January. The application forms for the same will be released in October, 2020 while the admit cards will be issued in December, 2020. Aspiring candidates can fill the application form by entering the required valid details and download the admit by entering the login credentials. The result OF CEED 2021 will be released in March 2020, after the publication of the draft answer key for Part A & final answer key for Part A. The qualified candidates can download the CEED scorecard from the official website, however, unsuccessful candidates will be able to only check their scores on the result page as the scorecard will not be made accessible to them.
The validity of the CEED 2021 online scorecard will be of one year from the date of its declaration and the hard copy of the same is unattainable i.e. it can only be accessed online and downloaded. The scorecard of CEED bears the applicant's signature & photograph submitted at the time of registration.

CEED 2021: Eligibility Criteria
However, Age-limit and Number of attempts are no bar to appear for CEED, the eligibility standards for the exam revolves around Academic Qualification which is prescribed as follows for CEED 2021:
- A bachelor’s degree/ diploma/ PG degree of 4 years duration or 3+2 years after 12th.
- Note: Candidates appearing for Final Examination of the above -mentioned courses by July 2020 will also be considered as eligible.
- Qualification in GD Arts Diploma (10+5 Level) by July 2020.
Application Form for CEED 2021
Application forms for CEED will be downloadable from the official website- ceediitb.ac.in and will have to be submitted online. The forms pry into academic records along with personal details and the scanned copies of some important documents which need to be submitted online. Documents which should be uploaded in the application form are as follows:
- Applicant’s recent & coloured passport size photo in .jpg file format.
- Applicant’s signature in .jpg file format.
- Academic records, degree and diploma certificate.
- Category certificates like Sc / St / OBC NCL in .pdf file format

Fee and Date of Registration
Online registration for CEED 2021 will start in the month of October, 2020 with the filling of an application and payment of the application fee i.e. INR 1300 for women/SC/ ST/ PWD Candidates and INR 2600 for all other candidates.
Last week of November, 2020 will be the deadline to submit the CEED 2021 application form. However, application forms with late fee of INR 500 in addition to application fee will still be permitted till the third week of November, 2020. Fee payment will be acceptable only via online mode i.e. through debit card, credit card or net banking.

CEED 2021: Exam Cities
CEED 2021 examination will be conducted at various centres in different cities throughout India. The list comprises Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Visakhapatnam.

CEED 2021: Admit Card
The admit card of CEED 2021 will be issued by IIT Bombay in the last week of December in online mode to the eligible candidates who will fill the application form and pay the application fee before the deadline. No hard copy or soft copy of CEED admit card 2021 will be posted or mailed individually to the applicants. Students will need to download the admit card from the official website by entering the details asked. CEED 2021 admit card is a mandatory document to carry along with the valid photo while appearing for the exam. No candidates will be permitted to enter the exam hall without the admit card. CEED 2021 admit cards will comprise the details about the candidate as well as the exam such as candidate’s name, roll number, exam centres, exam guidelines etc.
Exam pattern CEED 2021
The CEED exam is inclusive of two parts — Part A and Part B and a total duration of three hours are given to the applicants to answer both the parts, however, the answers of Part-B is evaluated only if the candidate qualifies the Part A of the exam.
- Part A of CEED is an online screening test that comprises multiple select questions (MSQ), numerical answer type questions (NAT) & multiple-choice questions to take the measure of applicant’s visual & spatial competence, environmental & social knowledge, analytical & rational acumen, language and design subtlety.
- Part B of CEED is an offline exam that comprises 8 Questions to gauge an applicant's drawing, designing and writing creativity.
Changes in the exam pattern and marking scheme
There were some changes made in the examination pattern of CEED 2020 w.r.t number of questions as well as marking scheme. These changes will continue to exist in the exam pattern of CEED 2021.
First of all, there was a reduction in the total number of questions from 45 to 41 and secondly, there was an addition of new sections such as creativity, visual sensitivity, form sensitivity, problem identification, etc in Part B of the exam.
Besides, a negative marking of 0.2 marks for each wrong answer in MCQ types was introduced and the marks for correct answers were increased to 03 from 02.
The conclusive score of CEED 2021 will be prepared by giving 25% and 75% weightage to Part A and Part B, respectively.
