The Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) is conducted by UPSC every year to fill up the vacancies for medical graduates into an array of Central Government Services and Organizations. The Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) is held as per the rules prescribed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the Gazette of India.

The Combined Medical Services Examination (CMSE) is conducted to shortlist and recruit the eligible candidates for the posts of medical officer posts. More than three lakh candidates register for and take this examination every year. These candidates are shortlisted based on the performance in the online written examination that comprises two papers. Each paper is conducted for a duration of two hours and carries a maximum of 250 marks.

CMSE 2020: Eligibility Criteria 

Nationality: A candidate interested in applying for IBPS CWE/Bank PO Examination must be either a Citizen of India. However, the subject of Nepal/Bhutan or Tibetan Refugees who shifted to India before 1st January 1962 with an intent to permanently settle here, are also eligible to apply. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) who have migrated from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Vietnam or East African countries like Kenya, Zaire, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia intending to permanently settle in India, are also eligible. 

Educational Qualification: To appear for the exam, a candidate must have passed the written and practical tests of the final year of the MBBS programme. Candidates appearing for the final year examination of MBBS exam are also eligible to apply, however, the admission would be considered on a provisional basis and subject to cancellation, in case of failure to present the evidence of passing the written and practical components of the final year examination of MBBS program.

Age Limit: The candidates should not be more than 32 years of age on August 1, 2020. The lower age limit has not been defined by UPSC in its official notification. Age relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit is prescribed for the candidates belonging to OBC or SC/ST category, whereas three years of relaxation is for those candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir in the period between January 1, 1980, to December 31.

CMSE 2020: Application 

UPSC released the UPSC CMS 2020 notification alongside the application link for the CMSE 2020 examination to facilitate the candidates to apply for the examination in online mode. The link for the UPSC CMS 2020 application will be closed on 18th August 2020. The candidates are advised to fill the UPSC CMS 2020 exam form as soon as possible to get the preferred exam centre.

CMSE 2020: Admit Card 

The admit cards for CMSE 2020 will be issued in online mode to the successful and eligible candidates. These candidates will have to download the admit card by logging to the official website using the valid registration number, The admit card is an important document and acts as an exam hall ticket without which the entry to the examination hall is prohibited.

Negative Marking

There is a negative marking in the MCQ type questions of the UPSC CMS written exam. 1/3rd mark is deducted for each wrong attempt and there is no deduction for the unattempted questions. 

UPSC CMS Exam Pattern - Interview

A total of 100 maximum marks are there for the UPSC CMS interview round. There is no fixed pattern for the interview round and the time duration, type & number of questions varies from candidate to candidate. The questions are usually asked from the academic background or specialisation of the candidates. 

UPSC CMS 2020: Interview

The candidates who get shortlisted in the written examination are called for the interview in person at the UPSC office in New Delhi. The candidates are required to come with all the educational as well as professional certificates during the interview for the document verification. 

UPSC CMS 2020: Result

The result of UPSC CMS 2020 exam that will take place in the month of October will be declared in December. The result will be announced in the online mode on the official website of UPSC - upsc.gov.in.

IGNOU 2020 TEE Answer Booklets & Re-evaluation Now Allowed to Applicants

Students participated in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) June 2020 TEE, and December 2019 TEE exam will now be allowed to apply for the xerox copies of answer booklets. Indira Gandhi National Open University has decided to allow the students for the revaluation and re totalling of marks, they scored in these examinations.

The results of IGNOU June 2020 TEE were announced on October 1. With the upcoming facility of issuance of the photocopy of answer booklets, the students who were dissatisfied with their results can apply for the revaluation of marks scored in the term-end examinations and the photocopies of IGNOU TEE answer sheets. 

The application for the same will have to be made online on the official website of the university. Students simply need to go to the IGNOU website and click apply on the designated link. After which, a few details need to be filled, followed by the payment of the application fee and submission of the application form. 

It must be noted that the applications for revaluation and photocopies of IGNOU December 2019 TEE and IGNOU June 2020 TEE of exams comprising MCQ type questions are disallowed. 

According to the statement in the IGNOU revaluation window,  “Reevaluation and copy of Answerscripts is not available for the Following Exam for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type and conducted on OMR sheets.”

Students can apply for and get the photocopies of the answer booklets of IGNOU June TEE and IGNOU December TEE examinations if the answer copy has not been handled for Re-evaluation. Students can either first make an application for the copy of Answer Sheet, followed by an application for Re-evaluation or go for both simultaneously.

UP Govt to pay Education Expenses of NEET Topper

Education expenses of NEET topper Akansha Singh will be paid by Uttar Pradesh Government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made an announcement about the disbursement of her graduation expenses. These expenses will include the expenditure of food and lodging during all the academic levels of her graduation.

Akansha Singh lives in Kushinagar district of UP and has achieved 100% score in NEET 2020 exam.  

Though Akansha was given second rank in the examination, she has been declared as top-ranked along with Soyeb Aftab who is native of Odisha state. On the direction of CM Yogi Adityanath, a letter is to be sent by the chief secretary of UP state, to the authorities concerned for the declaration of NEET 2020 ranks to declare Akansha Singh and Soyeb Aftab, both as the first rankers of NEET 2020 examination as they both have scored 720 marks out of maximum score of 720. 

Besides, personal wishes are sent from UP CM to the family members and parents of AKansha Singh, laurelled the top- scorer as an ideal for all the girls. CM Yogi Adityanath appreciated the hard -work she has made and the high perseverance she has maintained throughout her preparation. 

On the other side, Shoyeb Aftab has also created a history with a full score of 720/720 and All India Rank of 1. He is the first-ever candidate to score 100% in NEET examination. From Odisha state also, he is the first student to Top NEET. With this high score, he hopes to get admission in AIIMS New Delhi. 

NEET 2020 comprises a sum of 180 MCQ type questions for a maximum of 720 marks. Qualified candidates who have scored at least or more than NEET 2020 cut-off are considered eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET 2020. This implies that the candidates with scores more than NTA NEET 2020 cut-off will be eligible for enrollment to state-quota seats India quota (AIQ) seats through NEET 2020 counselling. The NEET 2020 cutoff for students who belong to General Category is 147. The highest number of students who have qualified NEET 2020 are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra.

Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association, KPPGCA has released the admit card for KMAT 2020 for the eligible candidates who applied for the examination by filling the application form and paying the prescribed application fee. The admit card has been released via online mode on the official website of KPPGCA on 27th October 2020. 

Successful candidates need to download their admit card from the official website i.e. kmatindia.com. using their login credentials.

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2020 is an entrance examination that will be conducted by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association) to offer enrollment to the qualified candidates in 189+ AICTE or University accredited Management Schools established in Bangalore and Karnataka. This year, the examination will be conducted on 29th October 2020 for admission to management institutes in the state. 

The exam will take place via online mode, keeping in mind all the precautionary measures amid COVID-19. All the participants must carry along their KMAT Admit Card otherwise the entry to the exam hall is prohibited. Check below the simple steps to download the KMAT 2020 Admit Card.

According to an official statement by Raghu Sharma, Rajasthan Health Minister, approval for the additional seats in MBBS in Rajasthan has been granted. 230 additional seats have been green signalled for the MBBS programmes at four medical schools in the state. 50 additional seats will be given to the medical schools in Udaipur and Ajmer. As far as Barmer Medical College is concerned, there will be an increment of 30 seats this year. 

In comparison to last year when there was a total increment of 550 seats, seats added this year are lower. However, if taken together, the total addition in MBBS seats in the last two years reaches 880 in Rajasthan, thereby making a sum of 2830 total MBBS seats in Rajasthan, today. 

The initiation of Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar has also received approval by the National Medical Science Commission. The Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar will be started in the session 2020-21. 

Sikar is a native district and approval of a medical college in Sikar was great news for Govind Singh Dotasara, Congress State President, who expressed extreme joy through a tweet over the approval.

"The much-awaited Sikar Medical College has received the approval of the National Medical Science Commission. It is a result of the strong will power of the Congress government of the state that the Sikar people have got their right, their medical college," a tweet by Mr Dotasara.

The news highlights the commencement of first round of NEET 2020 Counselling from Tomorrow

The first round of the NEET 2020 Counselling will start from 27th of October 2020 by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The first round of seat allotment under this process will commence from tomorrow. The counselling process will be conducted only for those candidates who have qualified the NEET 2020 exam. Unqualified aspirants will not be able to take part in the same. However, the registration is mandatory for the eligible candidates to participate in the counselling. 

Registration for the first round of seat allotment needs to be done on the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in. and will remain open till 2nd November 2020 before 5 pm. It must be noted that registration must be done before the deadlines otherwise the participation in the seat allotment process is prohibited. 

NEET 2020 registration process seeks the names of the courses and colleges preferred by the candidates that means the candidates will have to fill in their choices about the college and the course during the registration process. However, the candidates will be allowed to fill in their preference within a specific course of time i.e. from 28th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020, after that the preferences will be frozen. 

Followed by the 2nd round of seat allotment, details about which will be notified very soon, the 1st round will be conducted on 3rd and 4th November and the results of the same will be declared on 5th November 2020. Here is the process to register for the counselling process of NEET 2020:

Step 1: Go to the official website of MCC i.e. mcc.nic.in.

Step 2: Find and click on the ‘UG Medical Counselling’ link available on the homepage.

Step 3: Click on ‘New Registration’.

Step 4: Save your new login ID and password that will appear on the screen.

Step 5: Click on ‘Candidate Login’ and enter your new login credentials.

Step 6: Enter all the details asked.

Step 7: You will get a registration slip after filling all the details. 

Step 8: Make a payment of the registration fee. 

The registration fee needs to be paid before the deadline and the due date for the payment of the registration fee for NEET 2020 Counselling's first round is 2nd November 2020.
