Recent Updates
The Counselling registration and choice filling process was started on May 13, 2020, and the windows for the same will continue to remain open till June 12, 2020. The qualified candidates can register for the counselling process on the official website- coap.iitm.ac.in This time, MNIT Jaipur is conducting GATE CCMT counselling to grant admissions into the PG programs at NITs. There is an increment in the total number of GATE CCMT 2020 participating institutes from 46 to 49.A comprehensive schedule for regular as well as exclusive rounds of counselling has also been prescribed by the concerned authorities.There is an announcement from Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education about the computer-based coaching for GATE aspirants, to be jointly conducted by JNTU Anantapur, YVU Cuddapah and Kakinada. However, the registration for the same is open only for the engineering students from Andhra Pradesh state.

Verbal Ability: English grammar, verbal analogies, sentence completion, verbal deduction, word groups, instructions and critical reasoning.
Numerical Ability: Numerical estimation, computation & reasoning and data interpretation.
Engineering Mathematics (not applicable to all the Papers)
Technical Ability: Technical questions associated with the Subject discipline opted

GATE 2020 Eligibility
Nationality: Indians and foreign nationals from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia and UAE are eligible for the National Level Post Graduate Engineering Entrance Exam.
Age Limit: No Age limit
Academic Eligibility: Candidates qualified/ appearing for Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology or Post Graduation in appropriate Science discipline
Qualifying Marks: No minimum percentage
No. of Attempts: No restriction on attempt limit

Eligibility for admission in M.Tech programmes in IITs is prescribed by the institutes respectively.

GATE 2020 Registration
* GATE 2020 Registration was started on August 31, 2019, with the release of application forms on the official website- gate.iitd.ac.in.
* GATE Registration was entirely online and the aspirants had to submit the application form online along with the application fee.
GATE 2020 Result
* GATE 2020 Result was announced by IIT Delhi on March 13, 2020. This is an all-inclusive result for all the 25 disciplines and all candidates who wrote exams in February.
* Candidates can access their results on the application portal appsgate.iitd.ac.in.
* Gate Result has a validity period of 3 years from the date of Result declaration.
* Students are advised to download their respective GATE Result 2020 as it is a mandatory document required during the participation in counselling & admission.
GATE 2020 Cut Off
* GATE 2020 Cut Off was also released by IIT Delhi. GATE 2020 Cut Off for Mechanical Engineering (ME), CE, EC stood at 34.0, 32.9, and 28.8, res[ectively.
* Qualified students who scored cut-off marks or more marks the eligibility for M.Tech admission in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programmes by IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and STIs.
* Some PSUs like IOCL, DRDO, ONGC, BHEL, also use GATE scores to recruit the eligible engineers at different positions. Some of the PSUs are DRDO, IOCL, ONGC, NTPC, BHEL, etc
* Out of a total number of 6,85,088 candidates who appeared in GATE 2020, only 18.8% could successfully qualify the GATE 2020.
* The highest number of applicants were for Mechanical Engineering (ME) and the cut-off of the same stood at 34.0
* Least number of applicants (175 students) were for Ecology and Evolution (EY) and the cut off of the same stood at 42.2
GATE 2020 CCMT Counselling
GATE 2020 CCMT (Centralized Counselling for MTech / MArch/ MPlan) Counselling will completely depend on the candidate’s GATE 2020 scores. Only those applicants who have scored GATE cut-off or more are eligible to participate in GATE 2020 CCMT counselling.
To participate in counselling, the candidates need to fill the GATE registration form on the respective portal followed by the payment of GATE Counselling fee.
