Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test is an entrance test that takes place at a national level and is conducted every year to provide admissions in postgraduate programs of M.Pharma. There are around 24000 seats available every year across 841 participating pharmacy institutions in the program of M.Pharma where the candidates who qualify the GPAT 2020 can apply. Candidates who clear the GPAT 2020 can also use the scores of the examination to apply for Ph.D. degree programs and avail doctoral scholarships for the same with their score card being applicable, once they have completed their degree in an M.Pharma program. Until 2018 the examination of GPAT was conducted by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) but recently the authority of conducting the examination has been transferred to the National Testing Agency (NTA) with effect from the year 2019.

Eligibility Criteria for GPAT 2020 

  • Candidates need to qualify their 10+2 examination from the state board and completed their graduation degree of 4 years after their 10+2, to be eligible to apply for GPAT 2020.  
  • Candidates need a graduation degree of 4 years after 10+2 is mandatory to be in the field of Pharmacy or related studies.  
  • Candidates are not particularly required to have a minimum percentage of marks obtained in their 10+2 or graduation to apply for the GPAT 2020. 
  • There is no age limit to apply for admissions in the GPAT 2020. 
  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen to apply for the GPAT 2020.  
  • Candidates/Students who are in their final year of graduation in the program of B.Pharma are also eligible to apply for the GPAT 2020.

Recent Updates on GPAT 2020 

  • Since the last year 2019, the organization authority of conducting GPAT 2020 is transferred to National Testing Agency (NAT) from All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). 
  • Candidates who come under the PwD category also have provisions made for them to apply for the GPAT 2020, but they must fulfill the eligibility criteria of: a) The candidate will be considered a PWD if they are physically handicap, dumb, visually impaired or have a hearing impairment.   

Process of Admission for GPAT 2020 

Step1: Applicants need to apply for the GPAT 2020 online, by filling out the admissions for thoroughly and attaching all the necessary documents alongside very carefully which will include their photograph, digital signature, and scanned documents.  

Step2: There is an admission fee that needs to be paid, by each applicant through an online transaction, and once the fee is paid, no correction is permissible in the application form. 

The applicants should remember to download and print the application form and application fee receipt with them carefully. 

Step3: Every applicant who has successfully registered will have to download their admit cards that will be released on the institute website using their Application ID. 

Step4: Applicants must choose their examination centers, there are centers located in around 80 cities of India out of which the applicants must choose one most favorable to them.  

Step5: Taking the admit card along with themselves the applicants will have to appear for the GPAT 2020 at the chosen center.  

Step6: Wait for the examination results to be released on the institute’s website and applicants should check for their scorecard to see their examination result.  

Step7: The score of their GPAT 2020 will be used for providing admissions to the candidates who have successfully cleared the examination in around 841 pharmacy institutes across India.  

Counseling for GPAT 2020 

The released merit list of the GPAT 2020 will specify the roll numbers of each candidate, category, the rank of the candidate, total score, and the status of qualified/ non-qualified. Based on the merit list the candidates selected will be called in for counseling of admission. The counseling process will be carried by the NTA approved and participating pharmacy colleges for each candidate separately. The allotment of seats to the candidates will be mainly based on their scorecards and rank in the merit list.

FAQs on GPAT 2020 

Q: How many times is GPAT conducted in a year? 

A: GPAT examination is conducted only once every year. 

Q: Is there an age limit present in order to be eligible to apply for GPAT? 

A: No there is no age limit, a person who checks all other eligibility criteria can apply for the examination. 

Q: Is there negative marking present in the GPAT 2020? 

A: The marking scheme of GPAT 2020 will include, +4 marks for every correct answer and –1 for every wrong answer. Therefore, yes negative marking is there in GPAT 2020. 

Q: How many candidates were able to clarify in the previous year (2019) GPAT examination? 

A: A total of 4119 candidates only qualified for the previous GPAT 2019 examination. 

Q: Is a candidate permissible to leave the examination hall once he/she has completed the examination and submitted it? 

A: No, even if the examination is completed for the candidate, he/she cannot leave the examination hall before the 180 minutes is over.

Students participated in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) June 2020 TEE, and December 2019 TEE exam will now be allowed to apply for the xerox copies of answer booklets. Indira Gandhi National Open University has decided to allow the students for the revaluation and re totalling of marks, they scored in these examinations.

The results of IGNOU June 2020 TEE were announced on October 1. With the upcoming facility of issuance of the photocopy of answer booklets, the students who were dissatisfied with their results can apply for the revaluation of marks scored in the term-end examinations and the photocopies of IGNOU TEE answer sheets. 

The application for the same will have to be made online on the official website of the university. Students simply need to go to the IGNOU website and click apply on the designated link. After which, a few details need to be filled, followed by the payment of the application fee and submission of the application form. 

It must be noted that the applications for revaluation and photocopies of IGNOU December 2019 TEE and IGNOU June 2020 TEE of exams comprising MCQ type questions are disallowed. 

According to the statement in the IGNOU revaluation window,  “Reevaluation and copy of Answerscripts is not available for the Following Exam for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type and conducted on OMR sheets.”

Students can apply for and get the photocopies of the answer booklets of IGNOU June TEE and IGNOU December TEE examinations if the answer copy has not been handled for Re-evaluation. Students can either first make an application for the copy of Answer Sheet, followed by an application for Re-evaluation or go for both simultaneously.

Education expenses of NEET topper Akansha Singh will be paid by Uttar Pradesh Government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made an announcement about the disbursement of her graduation expenses. These expenses will include the expenditure of food and lodging during all the academic levels of her graduation.

Akansha Singh lives in Kushinagar district of UP and has achieved 100% score in NEET 2020 exam.  

Though Akansha was given second rank in the examination, she has been declared as top-ranked along with Soyeb Aftab who is native of Odisha state. On the direction of CM Yogi Adityanath, a letter is to be sent by the chief secretary of UP state, to the authorities concerned for the declaration of NEET 2020 ranks to declare Akansha Singh and Soyeb Aftab, both as the first rankers of NEET 2020 examination as they both have scored 720 marks out of maximum score of 720. 

Besides, personal wishes are sent from UP CM to the family members and parents of AKansha Singh, laurelled the top- scorer as an ideal for all the girls. CM Yogi Adityanath appreciated the hard -work she has made and the high perseverance she has maintained throughout her preparation. 

On the other side, Shoyeb Aftab has also created a history with a full score of 720/720 and All India Rank of 1. He is the first-ever candidate to score 100% in NEET examination. From Odisha state also, he is the first student to Top NEET. With this high score, he hopes to get admission in AIIMS New Delhi. 

NEET 2020 comprises a sum of 180 MCQ type questions for a maximum of 720 marks. Qualified candidates who have scored at least or more than NEET 2020 cut-off are considered eligible to participate in the counselling process of NEET 2020. This implies that the candidates with scores more than NTA NEET 2020 cut-off will be eligible for enrollment to state-quota seats India quota (AIQ) seats through NEET 2020 counselling. The NEET 2020 cutoff for students who belong to General Category is 147. The highest number of students who have qualified NEET 2020 are from Uttar Pradesh followed by Maharashtra.

Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association, KPPGCA has released the admit card for KMAT 2020 for the eligible candidates who applied for the examination by filling the application form and paying the prescribed application fee. The admit card has been released via online mode on the official website of KPPGCA on 27th October 2020. 

Successful candidates need to download their admit card from the official website i.e. kmatindia.com. using their login credentials.

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2020 is an entrance examination that will be conducted by KPPGCA (Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association) to offer enrollment to the qualified candidates in 189+ AICTE or University accredited Management Schools established in Bangalore and Karnataka. This year, the examination will be conducted on 29th October 2020 for admission to management institutes in the state.

According to an official statement by Raghu Sharma, Rajasthan Health Minister, approval for the additional seats in MBBS in Rajasthan has been granted. 230 additional seats have been green signalled for the MBBS programmes at four medical schools in the state. 50 additional seats will be given to the medical schools in Udaipur and Ajmer. As far as Barmer Medical College is concerned, there will be an increment of 30 seats this year. 

In comparison to last year when there was a total increment of 550 seats, seats added this year are lower. However, if taken together, the total addition in MBBS seats in the last two years reaches 880 in Rajasthan, thereby making a sum of 2830 total MBBS seats in Rajasthan, today. 

The initiation of Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar has also received approval by the National Medical Science Commission. The Srikalyan Government Medical College, Sikar will be started in the session 2020-21. 

Sikar is a native district and approval of a medical college in Sikar was great news for Govind Singh Dotasara, Congress State President, who expressed extreme joy through a tweet over the approval.

"The much-awaited Sikar Medical College has received the approval of the National Medical Science Commission. It is a result of the strong will power of the Congress government of the state that the Sikar people have got their right, their medical college," a tweet by Mr Dotasara.

The first round of the NEET 2020 Counselling will start from 27th of October 2020 by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The first round of seat allotment under this process will commence from tomorrow. The counselling process will be conducted only for those candidates who have qualified the NEET 2020 exam. Unqualified aspirants will not be able to take part in the same. However, the registration is mandatory for the eligible candidates to participate in the counselling. 

Registration for the first round of seat allotment needs to be done on the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in. and will remain open till 2nd November 2020 before 5 pm. It must be noted that registration must be done before the deadlines otherwise the participation in the seat allotment process is prohibited. 

NEET 2020 registration process seeks the names of the courses and colleges preferred by the candidates that means the candidates will have to fill in their choices about the college and the course during the registration process. However, the candidates will be allowed to fill in their preference within a specific course of time i.e. from 28th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020, after that the preferences will be frozen. 

Followed by the 2nd round of seat allotment, details about which will be notified very soon, the 1st round will be conducted on 3rd and 4th November and the results of the same will be declared on 5th November 2020. Here is the process to register for the counselling process of NEET 2020:

Step 7: You will get a registration slip after filling all the details.
