The IIFT exam is an aptitude test for management that is conducted once every year in online mode by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to offer enrollments into the MBA in International Business program offered by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi, Kakinada and Kolkata. This management aptitude test takes place in the month of December and around 50,000 applicants appear to take this exam at different centres throughout the country. IIFT 2021: Eligibility Criteria
Domestic Candidates
- Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years’ course in any discipline is a must. The qualifying score is minimum 50 per cent for category belonging to General category and 45 per cent for those belonging to SC/ST and PwD candidates. The bachelor’s degree must be from a recognised university or college.
- Graduation Final year’s student is also eligible to apply for this exam, provided they need to submit the proof of the requisite qualification by October 7, 2021
- No age limit has been prescribed to apply for IIFT exam
Foreign nationals and NRI candidates
- Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years’ course in any discipline is a must. The qualifying score is a minimum of 50 per cent. The bachelor’s degree must be from a recognised university or college.
- Student of Final year of graduation is also eligible to apply for this exam, provided they need to submit the proof of the requisite qualification by October 7, 2021
- The aspirant must have been a resident outside India for a time-span of at least or more than 18 months as on December 31, 2020, and be out of India during the admission window.
- Candidate must present a certificate from the Indian Embassy /Consulate/High Commission of the country they are currently living in, acknowledging that they have been staying in the country during the stated period
- Foreign Nationals must have an authenticated passport or travel document from a country (other than India)
- Foreign National candidates must have qualified GMAT after January 1, 2019, and need to present the GMAT score latest by February 15, 2021
- If the candidate has taken any other MBA entrance test in India for the year 2020, they become ineligible to apply.
- NRI-sponsored aspirants and NRIs’s children are not treated under this category

IIFT 2021: Admission Process for MBA-International Business
The admission to the Domestic Students is based on their score in the IIFT 2021 exam, essay write-up, GD and interview, however, that for the Foreign Nationals and NRI Students is entirely based on General Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
IIFT Admission Process is a two-stage procedure.
Stage 1: IIFT Exam
IIFT Exam to be conducted throughout India in different cities like Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bhubaneshwar, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun, Guwahati, Indore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, Jamshedpur, Nagpur, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.
Stage 2: Essay Writing/GD/PI
Students shortlisted based on the marks scored in IIFT 2021 exam are then called for the further rounds of selection, namely, Essay Writing/Group Discussion/ Personal Interview. Stage 2 is anticipated to be held in any of the initial two months of the year 2021. This phase will take place in a few selected cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.
After the compilation of both the phases, a merit list is prepared and released for the qualified student who gets finally selected and called for the admission.
IIFT Eligibility Criteria: Executive PG Diploma Programmes in International Business
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree with 50% in aggregate from any recognized University is must along with managerial work experience of at least 5 years
- PG Degree or Engineering Degree or equivalent with 50% in aggregate from a recognized University is must along with managerial work experience of at least 3 years
- Any relaxation for the candidates belonging to reserved category is not available, however, the seats are reserved for such candidates according to the Government rules
IIFT 2021: Admission Process: Executive PG Diploma Programme in International Business
The faculty of IIFT select the candidates based on their application and the shortlisted candidates are called for GD/PI rounds (final round of selection). Based on their performance in these rounds, candidates are offered admission in the IIFT.
Eligibility Criteria: Certificate Programmes in IIFT
The short-term certificate programmes offered by IIFT are Certificate Programme in Export-import Management, Certificate Programme in Global Trade Logistics & Operations and Certificate Programme in Capital & Financial Markets.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian/Foreign University is a must.
- Diploma holders with a minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience post-diploma also mark eligibility.
- Any age limit to apply for the certificate programmes has not been prescribed.
Enrollment to these certificate programmes is offered based on the performance in the personal interview round held at the Delhi campus of IIFT.
IIFT 2021: Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of 3 years in any discipline or equivalent degree from a recognised university is a must.
- Minimum 50% marks in Graduation is a qualifying score for candidates belonging to the General category. 45% is for those belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories.

IIFT 2021: Exam Pattern
The exam pattern of IIFT 2021 is anticipated to be similar to that of IIFT 2020 exam. The mode of the examination will be online and the duration will be 2 hours to attempt a total of 110 questions that may vary from high to moderate level of complexity. The questions will be based on VARC, General Awareness, Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation and Quantitative Analysis. IIFT 2021: Syllabus

IIFT 2021: Application Form
The registration process for the IIFT 2021 will start in the 1st week of September in online mode on the official website of NTA. To register for the exam, the interested candidates need to fill the online IIFT 2021 application form. The registration process for IIFT 2021 will continue until the end of November 2020. IIFT registration fee is INR 2,000 for candidates belonging to General and OBC category and INR 1,000 for those belonging to SC/ST category. The application fee for foreign nationals is US$ 150. The application fee can be paid in online mode using a debit card, VISA/MASTER credit card or offline mode using Demand Draft.
IIFT 2021: Admit Card
The admit card of IIFT 2021 will be issued online on the official website in the month of November. The candidates will have to download the same by logging into their account after entering their name and the application number. The admit card comprises the details about the examination and the student. The details like Candidate's name, roll number, gender, application no, exam date, exam time, exam centre, exam day instructions, candidate’s photograph and signature are available on the admit card. The candidates are advised to verify all the details present on the admit card and contract the officials in case of any discrepancies. Admit card is a mandatory document to bring while appearing for the examination as, without it, the student is not allowed to enter the examination hall.
IIFT 2021: Answer Key
On the completion of IIFT examination, the answer key will be released online by the official on the website. This will facilitate the students to calculate their probable score and chances of getting selected. Besides, in case of any difference discovered in the answer key, students can challenge the same within a stipulated period.
IIFT 2021: Result and Scorecard
The Result of IIFT 2021 will be announced in December 2020. The result will be accessible to the candidates once they login using their DOB and user ID. The result will also be downloadable in the PDF format. Besides, the merit list after the result declaration will also be published. IIFT 2021: Counselling
The shortlisted candidates are called to participate in the counselling round for the final admission in the IIFT. The counselling process takes place to carry on the next rounds of selection i.e. Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Based on students’ performance in these rounds, the admission is offered to them. The group discussion and Pi round for IIFT 2021 will be conducted in the month of January or February 2021. The shortlisted candidates are then required to complete the document verification round during the admission process. The candidates of foreign nationality are offered admission based on their score in GMAT and Interview.
IIFT 2021 Test Cities
The IIFT exam 2021 will be held at different test centres in 220 cities throughout India. The applicants get an option to choose the most preferred cities to take the exam. Based on their selection for the four cities, one test centre in one city is allotted to them to appear for the examination.
