Ahmedabad: Nationwide due to COVID-19 pandemic, the future of admission in major MBA colleges across India is under serious turmoil. Some candidates speculate a reduction in the syllabus for Common Admission Test (CAT2020), this year.
However, throwing light on this matter Dr Ram Mohan, Chairperson-Incoming Admission, IIM Ahmedabad said that for CAT 2020, there is no change in the exam pattern. “Also the syllabus will remain the same,” he added.
“CAT core group will take a final call on this keeping in view how the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country develops,” he said.
CAT notification will be released in the last week of July. Candidates can start filling the application from August’s First Week till 3rd week of September, as per sources.
The exam will be conducted on November’s Last Week.
Exam Pattern of CAT 2020 If the entrance exam is being conducted as per last year, then the candidates will have to appear in the computer-based test wherein they will have to answer 100 questions. There will be three sections from which questions will be asked and candidates will be given 60 minutes to answer them. The three sections are:
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

Every year the IIMs conduct the CAT exam on a rotational basis. This year Indian Institute of Management, Indore is conducting IIM for CAT 2020. Candidates who qualify the CAT entrance test and if they meet the requisite cutoff of the IIM to which they have applied, then they have to take part in the selection process which comprises group discussion, written ability test and interview.
