The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi on Thursday announced to conduct optional exams for Class XII and compartmental exams for both classes X and XII in September; The Last Date to apply for compartmental exams is August 20. While the application window for optional exams will remain open till 22 August.
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the optional exams for Class 12 and compartmental exams of Classes 10th and 12th in September.
The optional exams for class 12th students are meant for those students who could not appear in Class 12th board Exams and had applied for "Improvement in Performance". While compartmental exams are meant for those candidates who appeared for the board examination 2020, for either Class 10th or 12th, but could not clear the examination in their first attempt.
“Candidates of Class XII who had applied for Improvement of Performance as regular candidates in the subjects for which examination was scheduled from 1st July 2020 to 15th July 2020 and their result has been declared as ‘NC’ in the subject concerned,” the official notification mentioned.
The board had said that it will announce the date sheet of optional as well as the compartmental examination soon.
The application for compartmental exams has already started from today and candidates can fill their application on the official website of CBSE i.e. www.cbse.nic.in. The last date to apply for the compartmental exams is 20 August 2020. The candidates will have to pay an exam fee of Rs 300/- per exam.
“Schools shall have to submit LOC for Compartment Examination in respect of regular students, both for Class XII and Class X through e-Pariksha, www.cbse.nic.in. Only those candidates whose name is submitted through the online process shall be allowed to appear for the examinations proposed to be conducted in September 2020,” said the notice issued by CBSE.
While candidates of Class 12th, who could not appear in the Class 12th Board examination due to COVID 19 pandemic and wish to improve their scores by appearing in the exam, will have to fill their application on the official website www.cbse.nic.in. The last date of application for the optional exams will be 22 August 2020.
“Candidates whose result has been declared based on the assessment scheme in the subjects for which examination was scheduled from 1st July 2020 to 15th July 2020 and wish to improve their performance,” read a CBSE statement.
The candidates who wish to appear in the optional exams will have to keep in mind that the marks obtained by the candidate in any such exams will be treated as final.
