Classes of New Batch to commence from September 16. Now, only 2 counseling rounds allowed in Engineering and Technical Colleges.
New Delhi: AICTE, the regulator body of Technical/Professional Colleges in India, releases a new and revised academic calendar for all its affiliated Technical & Professional Course offering Colleges/Universities stating that the classes in Technical Educational Institutes countrywide will start from August 16.
Classes in Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and Architecture Colleges/Universities will begin from 16 August for the existing students and from 16 September for the freshers to be enrolled in the new batch.
Also, the regulator body(AICTE) introduced a major change by reducing the number of counseling rounds to 2 for the students who will enroll themselves in the new batch. The decision has been taken because of current COVID-19 situations.
Technical Colleges and Engineering Colleges used to conduct six-seven rounds of counseling for admission, but this year due to the delayed start of the academic session, this step is taken.
The classes for these newly enrolled students will commence from September 16.
AICTE is well aware of the reduced number of instructional hours for this academic year. To complete the curriculum of the subjects of the first semester with less number of classes is a huge challenge for faculty teaching these subjects.
Previously, the regulator body also released the academic calendar for PGDM/PGCM students stating that the session of existing students will commence from July 15 for the existing students and August for freshers.
