Bhubaneswar: The State Government of Odisha on Wednesday formed four committees to the concept, the resource-mapping and development of digital and online content for the academic interest of the students in the backdrop of COVID-19 pandemic.
An official order by the Odisha School Education Program Authority read, " In pursuance to the instructions of the principal secretary to the government schools and mass education, these committees have been constituted, which includes Committee for Higher Secondary Education (Classes 11 -12), Committee of Secondary Education(Classes 9-10), Committee of Elementary Education (classes 1 -8) and the monitoring committee."
With schools suspended since the outbreak of coronavirus in the country, the government has taken many measures to promote digital/online classes.
The Committee of Higher Secondary Education along with Committee of Secondary Education will prepare the concept and will form the resource mapping for each subject with the classification of availability of teaching material of different topics and then the curated content will be uploaded in Madhu App, Diksha App and Videos of the recorded lectures will be telecasted on Doordarshan/Swayamprabha Channels.
While the role of the monitoring committee will be monitoring the tasks given to the committee in a phased manner.
The review and betterment of the digital content such created will be the task of State Council of Education Research & Training, Odisha in case of Elementary; Board of Secondary Education, Odisha for Secondary; and Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha for Higher Secondary.
Conclusively, the government's preparedness, to reduce the hindrance in the path of learning for the school students, is worth appreciation.
