Thiruvananthapuram: While others debate over supporting or not supporting online classes, Kerala's First Bell online classes streamed on YouTube and Broadcasted over TV have crossed 15 Crore views last week.
Not only has the state produced best CBSE 10th and 12th results, but it has also shown the rest of the nation that its strategies towards education are far better than any other state.
The initiative by the Kerala Education Department was taken the KITE or Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education. The CEO of KITE said that in addition to gaining response on TV, the streaming videos get views from over 141 countries and videos reached a whooping 15 crores views in just a few days.
The average daily views of classes streaming online are approx. 54 lakh per day. The CEO also informed that the classes are broadcasted through FaceBook Live.
The initiative began on June 1 as an interim arrangement as the state schools were forced to close due to COVID-19 pandemic. The unique initiative has ensured that not even a single student misses out.
Technologies like-Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality are being used to make the learning joyful. The schools would make use of free software applications to develop the classes to be aired through KITE channel.
