PM explained the NEP( New Education Policy) as an instrument of change that reflects the spirit of the country’s students which is shifting from simply learning to encourage critical thinking.
New Delhi: While addressing students at the Smart India hackathon 2020 grand finale through a video conferencing Prime Minister Mr Narender Modi said that the New Education Policy stressed on building job creators instead of job seekers and also emphasized that this is the time for increased focus on learning, research and innovation in the field of education.
Encouraging through Video conferencing, PM Modi said, “ The 21st century is the era of knowledge. This is the time for increased focus on learning, research and innovation. This is what India’s New Education Policy,2020 does. We are focusing on the quality of education in the country. Our attempts have been to make our education system the most advanced and modern for the students.”
“The New Education Policy 2020 announced earlier this week emphasized on the inter-disciplinary study, which will ensure that the focus is on what the student wants to learn instead of being compelled to learn,” said the PM reinstating the idea of empowering students.
PM also elaborate that the New Educational Policy is about the spirit which reflects that the country’s students are gradually shifting from the burden of the school bag to the boon of learning which will help them for life, from simply memorizing study matter to encouraging critical thinking.
He said that the role of the youth is important for a nation like India to achieve its target of improving the ‘ease of living’ to provide a better life for the poor and the needy. Hence, he encouraged the students to think over to become a job creator rather than a job seeker.
