There has been a lot of speculation about whether the Karnataka SSLC exams are cancelled or not. Suresh Kumar, the Karnataka education minister recently confirmed that the tests would be conducted according to the plan, from June 25 onwards. Karnataka SSLC exam or Karnataka 10th board Exams have not been cancelled.
Clearing all the questions regarding the upcoming Karnataka SSLC Examinations, the state's education minister has affirmed that the tests would go on as planned. Settling the confusion and theories on whether the SSLC exams are cancelled, Education Minister Suresh Kumar affirmed that the SSLC Examinations for class 10 would be conducted from June 25 onwards, under strict precautionary measures.
Preparation for the Karnataka SSLC exam
The minister assured that social distancing norms and instruction will be strictly followed. The administration will make sure that all the students are following the instructions. Students’ hands will be sanitised prior to their entry in the examination center. The students will also be provided with masks as a precautionary measure.
Only 18 students will be allowed in the examination room as compared to the regular number of 24. And a distance of 3.5 feet will be kept between all desks.
He also added, that the students who are coming for the exams need to carry their own supplies and their own water bottle.
The students living in the containment area will have the option to write the supplementary examination.
Student’s Safety is Top Priority
Speaking in Udupi, Suresh Kumar also said that student’s safety is the most important and they have also consulted all the concerned stakeholders before coming at the decision. He mentioned that he has travelled all across the state and had personally visited all the districts to ensure that all safety precautions are in place. The health department is also extending its help for the same.
According to the minister, parents and teachers should help boost the confidence of the SSLC students who are going to write the exams.
He also confirmed that the central government has instructed the state government to conduct the exams with proper precaution and all the protocols should be met.
Around 8.5 lakh students across the state have registered for the Karnataka SSLC Examinations 2020, which are going to begin from 25th June onward.
The exam was initially set to be conducted in the March-April month but due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was postponed to 25th June.
