The Mahindra Group on Friday announced the opening of Mahindra University (MU) in Hyderabad. Offering courses related to Futuristic Technology.
Hyderabad: With a focus on futuristic education in India, Mahindra Group, India announced the launch of Mahindra University in Hyderabad (Telangana). The Interdisciplinary Varsity will offer courses that integrate the study of science and technology with humanities, ethics, philosophy and design.
Mahindra University will be a private university with 130-acre campus and which will offer Under Graduate (UG), Post Graduate (PG) and PhD courses. The Mahindra Group is planning to enrol 4000 students across various schools of Mahindra University. This includes the School of Management, a law school, school of media and liberal arts, school of design and school of education. Established in 2014, Ecole Centrale School of Engineering is an autonomous engineering college will also become a part of Mahindra University.
Mahindra University was launched virtually by Telangana IT and industries minister KT Rama Rao in the auspicious presence of state education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and Anand Mahindra CEO and MD, Tech Mahindra. On this occasion, Rao said, "Technology as we experience today, can simplify any prevailing business or societal complexity."
On the idea of blending technology with humanities, he added, "The idea of integrating technology and humanities mainstream higher education curriculum is setting up not only young people but the entire nation for success."
Chairman-Mahindra Educational Institutions, Vineet Nayyar said, "With the education landscape continuously evolving, there is a need of dynamic and empowering approach to education that goes beyond business and is at par with global needs."
