The National Testing Agency (NTA) has come out with a clarification that the news about NEET 2020 postponement, circulating on social media, is fake. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) also issued a clarification along the same lines. There will be no changes to the July 26 exam date. The admit cards are available on NTA’s official website for NEET.
The fake notice, claimed that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2020 was postponed to August 2020, in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through an official circular, the NTA stated “It has come to the notice of the National Testing Agency (NTA) that a fake public notice dated June 15 with the subject line-postponement of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG July 2020- is being circulated through various sources and social media forums. All candidates and parents are hereby informed that no such decision has been taken by NTA and concerned authorities till date.”
NEET is conducted for admissions to undergraduate medical and allied courses across India. It is the only pan-India entrance examination for medical admissions. NEET 2020 was first scheduled for May 3 and was then postponed to July 26, due to the nation-wide lockdown.
